Jamshedpur, as the burgeoning township was named in 1919 in tribute to Tata Steel’s Founder, is India’s first planned Industrial City. It is a model for the harmonious co-existence of industry and environment. Acres of verdant parks and gardens dot the city and provide bucolic sanctuaries from the pressures of everyday life.

Not long ago, Jamshedpur or Tatanagar was an unknown village in tribal belt known as Sakohi. India's first steel industry Tata Iron & Steel Co has been founded at Sakohi in 1908. Today TISCO is one of the best steel industries in the world. Jamshedpur or Tatanagar has come up in the name of the founder of TISCO, Jamshedji Tata, and the Persian Industrialist. The city is like a painting on canvas. It is beautiful.Entire Tatanagar turns into a festive one on 3rd March, the birthday of Jamshedji.

In a city inspired by the Vision of our Founder and illustrated by landmarks that personify the Tata spirit, the centre of excellence adds new dimension to the search for excellence.

Dalma is the best elephant habitat of Bihar, where the pachyderms love to spend their summer. Dalma continues to be pleasing with temperatures under 30 degrees C. The availability of water during summer is all the more alluring for the elephants to migrate. The next best choice for getting the closest possible view of elephants is Betla National Park and the most appropriate time would be Feb/March.
Gaurs, one of the boldest and biggest among the denizens of the jungle, prefer
to be in close proximity to the elephants as they love to share the culms pulled
down by the taller tuskers. Gaurs usually move in herds except for the
monsoon when they disperse and often fall prey to the unsuspecting tigers.
